Chicken population is getting fed up by the activities of CETH (Chicken’s for ethical treatment of humans). Yesterday they vandalized a restaurant of KFH(Kentucky fried humans) protesting against alleged ill treatment of humans in slaughter houses. Before a couple of months they ransacked research labs of chicken & chicken medical co protesting against scientific experiments being conducted on guinea humans.

This inchicken behavior failed to draw enough public attention. Thus these vegetarian terrorists gain confidence and are encouraged to do more such humanely acts. The meat industry and scientific community are suffering huge losses because of these veggie terrorists.

They spread a lie that humans are ill treated in slaughter houses. It’s true that men are castrated without sedatives in slaughter houses, but I would like to point out that this is perfectly legal. Further these veggie terrorists forget that earlier humans castrated bulls in slaughter houses without sedatives. Actually every act of alleged cruelty pointed out by CETH terrorists were all earlier done on animals by humans.

CETH argues against de teething of humans in slaughter houses. But if human teeth aren’t removed these dumb witted humans will kill each other by biting. Space is a luxury in slaughter houses with each human getting 1 square feet of space, so they keep on fighting. Top avoid damage to human flesh, we de teeth them. And no we cannot administer sedatives while de teething. If we administer them meat prices will shoot up by 20%. Further, humans de-beaked chickens without sedatives in the past, so why should we care now?

CETH points out that stunning is ineffective. They say that as a result humans are killed with consciousness and at times are skinned alive and with consciousness. But I would like to point out that the meat industry has reduced this number to a large extent. Earlier around 10% of humans were skinned alive, but now that number has dropped down to 2%. Now let me describe this process and the precautions taken by our industry.

Shackling

During shackling, humans are hung upside-down by their legs on a line of shackles moving fast—approximately 182 humans per minute. Leg deformities and other injuries typical of large broilers may exacerbate the pain as their sensitive periostea are pinched and compressed by the metal shackles. After shackling, 3 percent of humans will have broken bones and 4.5 percent had dislocations. But this is immaterial since they will be slaughtered within an hour of shackling. If the industry tries to reduce shackling speed, then our production time will be drastically reduced.

Stunning and Temporary Immobilization

After dumping and shackling, humans proceed to the stunning area, where they are passed through an electrically charged water bath before having their throats cut. “Humane slaughter,” as defined by law for most species in many developed countries, requires that humans be rendered unconscious and, thus, insensible to pain prior to slaughter. But it is almost impossible to ensure that every human is rendered unconscious because the varied nature of the species hinders the effectiveness of the electrical settings. Doing so would increase our costs by many folds. As a result around 3% of humans escape stunning.

Throat-Cutting

After being stunned—or rather, temporarily immobilized or even entirely conscious after completely missing the stun bath due to avoidance behavior—humans are conveyed toward an automated spinning blade, commonly referred to as the “killing machine,” which is designed to cut their necks. Some conscious humans are able to avoid this blade, as well, by lifting their heads or flapping their sides. Many humans dodge the knives, some completely, some partially, because they are not fully stunned.

Scalding

Humans are dipped into the scald tank, which contains scalding hot water, to facilitate skin removal. It’s true that sentient humans are, indeed, sometimes scalded. Red-skin human carcasses, commonly found when electrical stunning methods have been used, are caused by a physiological response to heat when live humans enter a scald tank. But I would assure you that this number is very low, just 3.7 million humans per year which shows that our plants operate at 97% efficiency levels.

From the above said arguments it would be clear that CETH is exaggerating the activities done in slaughter houses. I would like to point out that chicken gospel says that humans were created for the well being of chickens. Everything was created for chickens and thus religion doesn’t prevent eating human meat. Further from a biological stand point it will be clear that chickens have sharp beaks to tear of human flesh. Chicken Godcreated chickens as carnivorous beings and thus its unnatural for chickens to become herbivorous.Veggie chickens lack essential nutrients and thus lead an unhealthy life style.

Hence I would request government and public to stop the atrocities of CETH and save the meat industry from these vegetarian terrorists.

Triple Talaq - Should it be there in civilized societies

A man in his sleep had bad dreams, called out the words "Talaq, Talaq, Talaq". What's so special about it? After all, we all have talked something or the other in sleep, at some point of time. But, can you imagine that this caused him to break up his happy family life and he is forced to go out of 11 year married life, when has a happy wife. Confused at Insanity? Welcome to the stupid practice of Triple Talaq.

Islamic religion has this practice of triple talaq (utter the word talaq three times to your spouse and you are divorced) and it is as draconian as it is insane. It is reported to have been out of Quaran but still a part of Sharia law. So, if any Muslim utters these to his wife, he is divorced and cant live with her. They are separated and unless they marry someone else and live with them for "atleast one night" and then use the same triple talaq to divorce them and remarry with the original spouse. Whow!!! I never imagined such insane practices exist still in 21st century.

So, in this case this guy told these words accidentally in his sleep and his wife by chance heard it and casually spoke about this funny incident to her friends. The Islamic clerics knew it and bam... they are to be separated. In an older case, a couple acting in a movie uttered these words as part of the movie dialogue and they were separated in real life!!!!! In many cases, it also puts women in bad state as a weak wife can be readily divorced by a husband, just by uttering three words.

The craziest thing is such laws are also enforced in the so-called secular India. Indian polity who want to seem secular practice such stupid practices of having separate laws for each religion.

When will India ever obtain true Independence (against ignorance, bigortory, chauvinism, racialism, discrimination, inequality)

Murder of IIT & IIM

Indian government is taking a great initiative of murdering the two of the golden goose that India is really proud of - IIM & IIT. The weapon to be used is the same used every where else that made India the most poor nation - RESERVATION. Yes, Indian government announces to implement that draconian MANDAL COMMISSION recommendation for the IITs & IIMs. See the insane Indian minister's announcement here.

A small background to this stupid principle... Indian society had a system called caste, that divided the society based on the type of labor. Expectedly, some type of labor was considered better than others and so the division of labor became a tool of inequality. As the society progressed through thousands of years of evolution and attacks, some practices became hardened and the principles that backed the practices vanished. In this case, the caste system became worse enough to prevent social ability and people were decided by birth, on what type of occupation they can perform. It was terribly unfair and social thinkers sought out to remove the stale practices resulted out of this bad principle. So, there were attempts to bridge this unfair treatment. So far so good.

But, what happened after Independence was that there was policy to reserve specific proportion of seats in academic institutions for these backward sections of the society. This is equally unfair, as people are getting punished for bad practices that their ancestors committed. And, as caste groups got stronger they demanded similar lower caste treatment for them and in many states almost 70% of seats are reserved for lower castes, leaving very little for competition. This killed competition, innovation and motivation. India sunk to more and more levels and finally by 1991, it became a begger nation on the verge of bankruptcy. Politicians benefited from provoking social sentiments and the small group of creamy intellectuals were sided and by naming them forward castes, they were denied of places in academic institutions and jobs. Since, they were small they didnt have the muscle power to counter the reservationist Hitlers. Bloodshed happend in society in the form of poverty and the lucky few escaped abroad.

By great luck, India started to embrace globalisation since 1990's which unexpectedly countered this horrible practice a bit. By bringing in more jobs and insitutions, even people of forward castes could progress and within a decade this suppressed group progressed really well and given the low reservation in the national elite insitutions, IIT and IIMs prospered and India became a great growing nation. But, the government now tries to stamp on the very heart of the system that brought India out of its shabby past. India's elite acadmic institutions and private corporations, who arteried this great revolution by mitigating reservation, are under target. They are to be forced into reservation. The cruel tools that killed India in the first 44 years of its deadly past are to be used again.

In principle, the scenario is similar to the one in Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" (IF you have not read that book, you are seriously missing something in life). There are some group of hard working innovators who built this nation and the remaining are a large majority of leechers who want to lick their hard-earned efforts. The successes of innovators are going to be used as weapons against them. India's elite who built majority of the great nation we see today, are going to be punished, penalized by a group of politicians who believe that they want a share of the prosperity that these elites have rightfully earned.

If you see the problem clearly, you can see the solution: SHRUG. If the nation ever repeats this gory practice of reservation, it is the duty of its great elites to give up this nation. Get out of it and dont be a part of its work. If all the great elites of IIT get out of it, then the government will see that all this institution has is walls and lawns. They can bring all the castes they want and they can shred every grass in it. Let the govt. know who is responsible for bringing up the growth of these insitutions. When, the nation sinks to the deadly state when all the elites leave it, then they will see what the remaining people are worth and let the remaining people know what they are worth. They wont face any discrimination, rigorous competition and there wont be any 'forward caste' person to take away their jobs. Then, they will know what brought them down - it is not the discrimination of the forward castes, but it is their mindsets. Till they realize the worth of the elites, they will never realize the truth. Indian polity requires harsh treatments.

No man can be ensalvened without his consent. There can be no discrimination against a person who doesnt feel inferior. When people talk of discrimination let them remember these lines.

If the Indian polity doesnt realize the truth, we should prepare for the ultimate thing: SHRUG all responsibilities for our nation, and form a new free society.

The amazing role of parenting

Today I saw a Tamil movie - "Thavamai Thavamirundu" that was a sentimental movie that highlights the role of parents in our society. While arguing with an eastern european and few americans, I was posed with questions like why do we still want to live with our parents??? I'm amused.. Why should not I love to live with my parents?

Parents are an amazing people in our society. They sacrifice so much so that we can rise. Even if it means herself to go hungry, our moms would never make us hungry. Our dads, who could not cry for a big injury can wince and weep if half-a-dangerous injury occurs to their kids. For many of the parents, the entire life revolves around their children. They take too many pains to get us educated with values. They try to inspire, motivate, teach... and they r the source of most things in our life. But, I feel pain when I see so many kids leaving their parents uncared for. They who had gifted us everything are not given a small inch of our affection.... They who had willing give us even in times of despair are not given anything in our times of prosperity. I vividly recall a thirukural verse,

"EnNanri Konrarkum Uivundam uivillai,
Seynanri konra magarku"

There can be a redemption for any sin, but they who had forgotten to return back the good deeds done by others to them, have no chance of any redemption (excuse my poor recall & translation skills)

More than just helping our parents in return for their favor, the services that we can do for the family gives us a sense of purpose of life. Unlike most people, Indian commoners dont question the purpose of life. They have it ready... When u r a kid ur purpose is to obey ur parents, when ur young u listen to teachers, when u grow up u serve ur kids... and this is the whole purpose of life. It is so simple.... Hinduism doesnt require you any great deed to reach heaven. IF you just do your duties to your immediate family, you can reach highest possible heights. I recally a small story here:

"A great Indian saint once asked GOD who is His greatest devotee. The saint expected the answer to be himself, but the GOD stunned him by saying the name of an obscure women. The saint who was so well versed and scholarly and devoted was astonished and he went to see that women. He was surprized to see a women caring for her husband and when she was drawing water from well, her husband calls and she immediately leaves the bucket and runs and bucket stands in the middle of well defying gravity. The saint so stunned by even the earth stopping before the most devoted and patient wife was even more surprized when she directs the saint to an even more great devotee. That guy is a butcher - someone from lower caste. The saint even more astonished goes and meet that guy, who after doing his butcher job, faithfully takes care of the needs of his parents. For him, the GOD has no obligations. He does what GOD requires him to do and so GOD has him as the greatest devotee"

The moral of this story is that before we seek to change our world, we need to change our immediate family. IF each one takes care of the immediate family, there wont be any need for governments, laws, religion and social rules.

We should be happy to have a great purpose for our lives. To forever change the state of our parents, the family and all our relatives. Recalling a famous shloka forming the afternoon Sandhya prayers,

"I shall hope to see all the greatess well a hundred years,
I shall hope to live well in prosperity a hundred years,
I shall hope to live well with my relatives and family a hunred years,
I shall hope to taste life happily a hundred years".

Let our family show the purpose of our dark and dull lives. Our family is not a burden in a modern livestyle (even I once saw the family like a windsail, it allows you to move witout doing any work, but if you want to move fast enough it would restrict your motion) it is more of a celebration of our livelihood. It lies in the soul of our greatness.

What is responsible for the India's greatest growth?

For a long time, I've been wondering what suddenly transformed this energized India. EVen 10 years back, India was known nothing other than black magic, poverty, crazy rituals and big moushtaches. Now technology and entrepreneurship could not be talked without mentioning India. No doubt, we have a long distance to go, but still what we have achieved so far from 'nobody to a celebrity' is a story worth telling. What changed us...

I could not see much in Indian govt (it still remains the most red-taped and corrupt systems in the world), Indian bureacracy still feels difficult to come to terms with modernity, Indian education systems have not seen much of a change, Indian infrastructure 'sucks' to say the least. We have poor airports, poor roads, poor schools (most Indian schools are totally private funded), poor healthcare (people get shocked to hear that most Indians manage without any kind of medical insurance) no social security (if you fall, your govt. doesnt give a 'damn'), but with all this we manage to shine. We young Indians, who endured all the pains of poor education systems to poor roads to schools without libraries and with autocratic teachers have managed to challenge the brightest top 1% of Western minds. What gave us so much power and energy.....

The greatest factor, the unspoken, untold and unheard feature responsible for carrying India so far, is our FAMILY. Gosh! our planners so much underestimate this great institution. Our govt. might not have given us great schools, hospitals and social security, but we had parents who replaced all of those governmental functionalities. While we had all these poor stuff, my father gave me an illusiory world with me having better transportation, healthcare and education, while he pained himself. So, many times he gone without money, but I never had to face pecuniary. My mom never left me hungry for any type of food I desired.

I had a much more cozier life than what real fortune would have allowed me. I never got cars, but I got an education that could now buy me the best of the cars. I never had fancy stuff, but I got values that could carry me throughtout life. I vividly remember the great stories my father used to tell (I'm going to put all these in my personal blog), those stories I heard and read are still fresh in my mind. I got those General Knowledge books and the big jigsaw puzzles and brain games like Chess, brainvita and Memory at the age of 6. I always heard him saying some great gita verse or a thirukural (the holy book for Tamilians). Most importantly, he had curious images - like an interesting image of krishan delivering gita to arjuna. I always was interested in such things. My mom taught me those little shlokas and latter inspired me to learn longer ones like Shashti Khavacham, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lalitha Sahasranamam... I never became a scholar in sholakas or gita, but I knew enough to always call GOD on my side. I knew enough to realize that he always stood by the toughest times I had.

Looking back, I'm so much grateful to have had such a great life. I got the motivation, knowledge, values and the energy to keep me on always. I dont have anything, but I'm in a position to earn anything. This is the new song of India. India is not popular because they found a new mineral or built some big buildings.. It is because we INDIANS are rising up with the energy that were gifted by a great parenthood. IF we carry this energy forward, we would never require that big FDI of China or big oil deposity of middle east... We are right now in the process of rewriting a history and the Phoenix is back....

The Magical Salaries

"The more we carry, while we go up, the more is the chance of we falling down. So burrow up savings as you move up."

I read the report about the salaries of IIM graduates in India with a tinge of astonishment and jealously. The salaries of $150 - 200K are a steal, for B-schools that doesnt even rank in world's top 100. The other day, my mom was saying how my neighbor who recently graduated from IIM-A is getting 3 lakhs (1 lakh = 100,000 & by current exchange rate Rs. 1 lakh = $2200) per month and I can expect no more than that even in US in a prestigious company. I'm stunned by how fast times are changing and the revolutions we face before our own eyes.

I grew up in an environment where Rs. 8000 to Rs. 10000 of disposable income plus housing allowance(a gross income of around Rs. 20000) per month is sufficient to run a family. A lot of times, I felt rich with a amount less than $400. Now, things are changing so fast in a very narrow period of time. Only two years ago, I was longing for few thousand rupees. When I graduated out of college and joined grad school in US, I was pleasantly surprised to see my after-tax stipend net income was more than twice my father's pre-tax gross income and my father had put lots of effort in that 25 year banking career as a manager in a national bank. I had to just do some grading and sometime teaching for few hours a week to attain that income, while my father works for 70 hours of week in managing a giant institution. And now, in a few months, my income might go by a multiple of 5X times and this is great. One of my former roomates has even a spectacular story. From a family with no graduates with an annual income of less than Rs. 15000/year, he managed to multiply the income by dozens of times!!!

This is the magic I'm talking about. For those of us who grew up with less than few hundreds of dollars a month, are now negotiating with salaries a dozen times greater than that. And this is in just a few years. If we care to see it carefully, we can see wonders. If we apply right brains, we can become millionaires in a jiffy. It reminds me of the greatest age of america - see here. If we apply right minds we can permanently change our future. There is virtually a gold rush over here and plenty of positive enthusiasm.

But, we must be more careful in this phases. The more we carry, while we go up, the more is the chance of we falling down. Thus, we should take more care in saving and investing. If we use prudent economical principles, we can do enormous wonders in this magical nation. Our eyes should glow as much as those American greats of the 19t h and early twentieth centuries. We should forever change our conditions. Nothing seems to be impossible. If so much of magic happened within the last decade, we can expect for much more in the next decade. Strap up and get ready for the biggest thrill ride of history.

India needs more engineers

I still vaguely remember an incident 6 years ago in Sep 2000. That time, when we just joined our engineering program, our college management announcd the decision to add self-financed programs in addition to our govt. funded program. That would almost triple the number of professional degrees generated by the college. This brought a natural agitation to us. People were worried about the future job prospects and fact that the competition of 3X engineers from our own college would be a dog-eat-dog contest. On a friday, when we attended a Chemistry lab session, the lab incharge passionately argued against such an intake and this agitated even more. We feared the reduce in prestige of the engineering degree (the once prestigious degree from respected instutions became a degree 'suitable for blind donkeys that requires lesser eligibility than a liberal arts program' - as put by one of my Physics professors).We discussed in detail in our hostels on the weekend and some of the students even suggested in going on a signature campaign to protest such a move. Fortunately, we didnt go against the move.

Now I realize how stupid those agitations and repulsion were. Reports after report indicate the lack of good engineers produced by our system. We once belived that a dozen engineering institutions per state could produce for all of its wants. Alas, we underestimated the great potential of this magic country. We require so many engineers that many corporations have started complaning about the lack of engineers in India. One of our biggest problems is that we produce so many of the bland liberal arts degrees, which dont satisfy anything for neither the students or the economy. The BA in history, economics, psychology produced by the chunk of arts colleges in India dont do any justice to those people nor to the fields they study. In spite of producing millions of BAs in history to economics to literature to (any arts field), we dont have many historians or economists ... of international repute. Our first job is to transform many of them into worthy programs that do justice to the field.

If they produce historians they should challenge great historical inconsistencies. If they study economics they should produce great economical theories. Without that, they may as well learn skills required for the IT or BPO industries. I recall a Tirukural quote,

"Thondrin Pughazhodu Thonruga, Agdilar
Thondarlin Thondramai Nanru"

If you are to rise, Rise with pride and popularity, otherwise it is better for you to not rise at all.

Thus, now India's main objective is to focus on core fields. We need to produce core science, art and social instutions, like we produced for technology (IIT) and management (IIMs). They should bring a fire brand of physicsts, historians, economists, litrarians.... Whatever field that we take up, we should produce extremely quality students in it.

Next step is to remove the "Also Ran" category. So many of the govt. liberal arts institutions and engineering colleges can be put in the junk category. Like Thiruvaluvar's quote, it is better not to have such institutions at all.

Once, we identified and builtup the best institutions for each field, we should find professional programs for the rest of the students. For now, we can have degrees more related to IT-ITES categories. If the students are more motivated, they can always switch to more important fields.

The main problem for us is not unemployment, but unemployablement. We seriously need to produce more quality students in greater quantity.

My Visions for the Organization

Guiltiness of yesterday fills our mornings and fear of tomorrow shadows our nights,
Gloominess of our work and emptiness of our actions loads our day,
We try hard to know the purpose of life and reasons for our existence,
Alas! We could never understand the secrets of Nature's philosophy.

We need an action to change the boringness of our lives,
We need a connection to fill the hollowness of our isolation,
We need a passion to break the inertia that stops from doing our best,
And, We need a vision to remove the chaotiness of our psychology.

Amazed are we, when we know the potential of our minds,
Astonished are we, when we know the passions of our friends,
Appalled are we, when we see the conditions of our poor nation,
Is it not a shame, that we still find it hard to solve the problems of sociology?

Let us pray God to give us the vision to solve our problems,
Let us worship Lord for giving us power to overcome the obstacles,
Let Him empower us to take on our dreams on seeing social prosperity,
God! We request you to be with us in our race towards secular theology.

Diverse are we in our regions and origins,
Varied are we in our missions and ambitions,
Together we stand at the crossroads of our common destiny,
Let no force stop us from making history.

India is rising

For the last two weeks, I've been vigourously trying to read and re-read all India related articles on the news. I've read almost 600 articles on India's rising prowess and Bush's visit to India. In fact, it was too much of India that I forgot what all I read and where all I read. In a recent meeting of US Indians Politicial Action Committee, where I was the sole student attendee among 20 odd people including top governmental officials of USA, Arun Shourie (Indian MP and former Minister), venture capitalists, and Vice Presidents of Companies and Technological associations, I heard lots of voices praising India. There were discussions on the famous nuclear deal (I must put a post on this) and India's crumbling infrastructure and redtapism fighting the zealous entrepeneurism and intellectual prowess of the youngsters. Newsweek put a cover story on India, every major newspaper described the story of India and ABC news has a great news coverage on "Ïndia rising" (video can be found here).

What are the pros and cons on the media coverage? There are some blogs like this which are very critical to such a coverage. They argue that India is being covered in a shanty way (it showed some slums and markets) and it would enforce stereotypes.. But, I hold a contrary opinion. What was shown in the videos were never demeaning. They go to show the realities that we cant forget. We hold the world's poorest of the poor, most illiterate of the illiterates, worst corrupted of the corrupt... But, amidst all this we are able to rise due to our skills of entrepreneurism and intellect. This fact cant be denied. Indian rise is so remarkable in history, yet so similar to other great rises.

Just after the medieval period, Europe experienced such an age. They were very curious to know science and technology and rewrote all the conceptions about science. They read all the stories of Greece and Rome and a sense of great national pride ran among them. That pushed them really hard to move up. They were curious to learn what is outside them and went all around the world, settled everywhere and became becons of intellect. The collective set of these practices formed the renaissance. The rest is history. The tiny continent with limited resources and harsh climate ruled over the world. An exactly similar thing happened in Japan, called the Meiji restoration. Thus, a small island in Pacific Ocean, started to reinvent itself (though it was originally forced to open up by American commaner Perry) and became a world challenger. In Germany such a process occured when the tiny german states experienced extreme nationalism and started to unite under Bismark.

I'm amazed to see all these factors happening in India. There is great nationalist sentiment and a pride of India, people reinvent older traditions like reciting Vishnu sahasranama, goin 2 temples and learning bhagvat geetha. People are so much curious to know the rest of the world. An average Indian knows much more abt US and Europe than an average American know abt India. We explore all over the world, and found everywhere. We maintain our cultural ties throughout our life. So, India is on the right track and world is truly celebrating for the right reasons. India's economy and infrastructure may not be comparable to China, but the basic social and cultural factors are ready for a big bang. We should soon see india accelerating to a double digit growth, once the chain reaction of recent economic growth reaches a critical factor.

The excuse for this is the interview process and followed by offer negotiation with Microsoft and the enormous time spent in reading newspapers about nuclear deals and the new India. Also, I'm set out to start out a career blog that would put my experiences and collected experiences of my peers and online contents for higher studies and software jobs. New posts coming soon.....
